Ripples Palace is a Chinese Restaurant located in Bentleigh, south-eastern suburb of Melbourne. We provide authentic Cantonese cuisine, Dim Sim and roast dishes to local diners.

As our restaurant are currently experiencing a rapid development and boost of customer volume, we are looking for an experienced Chef with extensive knowledge in the food industry and excellent food and presentation skills.

As the Chef you will be overseeing the following:

• Keep up with industry trends and create new recipes
• Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality
• Order and maintain inventory of food and supplies
• Estimating costs and ensuring all purchases come within budget
• Participate in the food preparation and cooking procedure
• Manage kitchen staff and delegate tasks related to meal prep, cooking and delivering food to diners in a timely fashion
• Maintain the schedule for kitchen staff
• Solve any problems in relation to food quality and customer complain etc.
• Hire, train, and supervise cooks and other food preparation workers
• Ensure safety and sanitation practices in the kitchen and implement quality control procedures
• Monitor and ensure complying with HACCP at all time
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have:

• Must at least 4 years’ experience as chef or Sous Chef in Chinese restaurant business
• Extensive knowledge of Chinese cuisine
• Able to maintain composure under pressure and high volume situations
• A strong leader that manages and develops the team

The successful candidate will be offered a annual salary package of $60,000+9.5% super.
