The Cafe

This is a very well known and popular cafe.  It seats about 65 and this will turn a few times on a busy day, looking at about 500 PAX on weekends.  The property is open for breakfast and lunch. 

The Team

This role reports to the Owner/Manager, who is a very down to earth operator and someone who is big on empowerment and supporting his people.  He comes from a big hospitality background and encourages an easy going but professional vibe.  There is also an Assistant Manager and approximately 10 people on each busy shift, including a barista, 4/5 floor staff, 1 dishwasher and 3 chefs.

The Role

You will be focused on the day-to day running of the cafe and taking responsibility when the owner and Assistant Manager isn't working. This role has variety, responsibility and the ability for you to contribute your own ideas. The role itself is fast paced and hands on, ensuring the venue is open, set up ready for the busy day ahead including setting up furniture, checking the float and till, checking staff are ready to work, and some ordering.  You'll be a motivated, fast thinker who thrives on good customer service.

The Hours 

The roster is a 5 day working week with 2 consecutive days off, including a couple of openings within a 45 hour week.  You'll also be giving the opportunity to have at least every other Sunday off.   Happy engaged staff is a goal of the owner!

The Candidate

You'll be an experienced and organised waiter who is looking for that step up into management.  You'll be flexible with a can do attitude, possess high volume experience and a commitment to superior customer service.

The salary for this position is up to $65K plus super + tips for an experienced Supervisor with the chance to grow into an Assistant Manager role.

In this role you will get paid overtime and extra pay for working public holidays.
