As a hands-on role, this position is integral in ensuring the smooth running of this motel bar, restaurant and its staff. The Restaurant Manager will ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service and promote the vision and values of Townview Motel in Mount Isa.

Townview Motel has a proud history and strives to maintain its reputation of being one of the best hospitality venues in the Mount Isa. The Motel has 38 rooms and a team of workers that makes the Motel a unique professional environment and a place to call home for visitors to Mount Isa and workers alike. It offers a restaurant, grocery shop, bar, swimming pool and is a short distance to town.

Qualifications / Key Selection Criteria:

  • At least 3 years in a similar role.
  • Certificate IV or above in Hospitality or Leadership Management.
  • Proven ability to comply with health and safety laws.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with restaurant reservations, greeting guests and taking customer orders
  • Organise events and functions
  • Purchase stock (food and non-food) on a budget and ensure stock is replenished
  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the restaurant and associated facilities
  • Deliver exceptional standards within the restaurant including in customer service and seeking feedback from customers about their experience
  • Trialing and implementing menus with Chefs
  • Provide leadership, management, motivation and mentoring of the team
  • Conflict resolution and complaint handling
  • Manage staff performance
  • Recruit and train new restaurant staff
  • Organise regular stock take and keep stock records
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry legislation including the Work Health & Safety Act and applicable Awards
  • Any responsibilities and duties incidental to the performance of the role of restaurant manager
