About the business
The Butchers Block is a lively restaurant that originated on the north shore of Sydney and established itself as a significant player in the local casual dining scene.
We are going through an exciting period in our history and have expanded the location of where our customers can come and experience the best service and quality food there is to offer.
We now have positions open for a Chef de partie at our current venue in Wahroonga and in the weeks to come at our new venue located in Barangaroo.
About the role
As a key member of the team your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Ensure all foods are kept under optimum conditions
- Ensure your section mise en place is organised, well stocked and ready for service
- Ensure all dishes are being prepared to the correct recipe and quantity
- Train and offer guidance to more junior staff members including KPs
- Ensure section daily ordering is communicated to the sous/head chef promptly and correctly
- Keep section and kitchen clean and organised In accordance with the daily kitchen hygiene program
- To assist head & sous chefs where directed

Skills and experience
To be considered for this role we are looking for candidates with the following minimum experience and skills:
- Certificate 3 or 4 in Commercial cookery
- Must have at least 2 years post-graduation practical kitchen experience
- Be able to take direction and feedback from senior staff
- Take pride and be passionate about their work
- Be reliable and have a strong work ethic
