About the role
Based at Royal Randwick Racecourse and reporting to the Manager, Hospitality Services, the Race Day & Event Operations Supervisor will oversee Race Day and non-Race Day functions, events and hospitality outlets.
The Race Day & Event Operations Supervisor will be responsible for:
- Coordinating the forward planning, event set ups and managing assigned race day and non-race day events
- Ensuring venue is prepared – Food & beverage hospitality set up, venue services, guest experience, parking, security, cleaning and maintenance
- Delivering outstanding customer service
- Conducting pre-service event briefings for all Event staff - assigning room sections and responsibilities for pre, during and post event
- Working with the wider team to implement occupational health & safety, RSA, HACCP, emergency evacuation, first aid and equal employment opportunity initiatives to contribute to a safe, healthy, equitable and ethical workplace
- Attending regular weekly event and operations meetings, liaising with the Event Manager prior to every event/function
- Offering assistance to other team members to get the job done – this may include logistics, venue services, event management
- Implementing and overseeing the Club’s Cash Handling Policy and procedures, issue and return floats for non-race day functions as required. Oversee ATM and Eftpos requirements
- Creating rosters for Race day and Non race day events
The ATC welcomes applications from candidates who possess:
- Experience working in food and beverage services with a reputation for quality customer service
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong team leadership skills - supervisory and motivational skills are a must including improving the performance of a team of people in a customer service environment
- Ability to interpret and apply legislation relevant to food and beverage services such as HACCP, RSA & OH&S
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan and execute multiple tasks
- Knowledge of stock control
- Ability to work unsupervised and be extremely proactive
- Sound conflict resolution and problem solving skills
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
