The Area Manager is responsible for the overall management of the rental offices within an assigned area, to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, a high standard of presentation and a cost effective, customer friendly environment. The role requires you to achieve business plans and meet targets across all areas of the business including growing key customer and supplier relationships, customer satisfaction, staff training and branch efficiencies. Flexibility also is required to work weekends, public and school holidays as required. Regular weekly travel between locations is expected.
Key duties include:
- Monitoring business performance;
- Continual improvement of business processes;
- Manage staff and performance;
- Customer service management;
- Target setting
- Manage controllable expenditure and overall branch budgets;
- Maximise fleet utilisation of assigned areas/locations;
- Compliance, administration &reporting.
To be considered for this role, you will have the following:
- 3-5 years management/operational experience in the vehicle hire industry;
- Strong organisational and analytical skills to track all appropriate operational measures and to analyse and forecast operational performance results
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn and use rental operating software
- High level communication skills and excellent mentoring/coaching skills;
- The ability to provide leadership, direction, support and motivation for a large number of staff across a variety of locations;
- Strong delegation skills and the ability to encourage empowerment and accountability amongst staff
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments and re-prioritisation requirements
- Ability to work constructively under pressure from multiple (sometimes competing) sources
- A genuine interest and willingness to exceed customer expectations;
- Australian Driver’s License (no restriction) and good driving record (no convictions)
