About the Company
St Andrew’s Ipswich Private Hospital is revolutionising private health care in the Ipswich and West Moreton region. The current development will see the opening of the regions first private emergency department, a new intensive care unit which will support the emergency centre with an accompanying 81 new private patient rooms and new operating theatres and sterilising department. A new Women’s and Children’s unit will provide quality local obstetric and paediatric services which will be supported by three new labour delivery suites. The redevelopment will also see the redesign of the hospital rehabilitation services inclusive of an accompanying gymnasium.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for an Undergraduate Clinical Facilitator to join the Staff Development team at St Andrew’s Ipswich Private Hospital. The role will see you working with students in the clinical placement setting. As the Clinical Facilitator you will make a significant contribution to the education of nursing students. You will be responsible and accountable for planning, facilitating and evaluating the progressive learning and development of students in clinical settings. The application and implementation of evidenced-based nursing practice will also be the responsibility of this role.
This role will facilitate Bachelor of Nursing students from universities (USQ, Griffith University and QUT) at different clinical practice levels in all areas of the hospital in an integrated program as part of the Undergraduate and Graduate team.
Essential Criteria
- Relevant and current registration with AHPRA
- Registered Nurse with minimum of 3 years post graduate clinical experience in an acute hospital environment
- Commitment to clinical excellence within a team environment
- Demonstrated time management and organisational skills
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated preceptorship and mentoring skills
- Positive attitude and team player
- Passion for quality health care and customer service
- IT proficient including Microsoft Office.
- Competent in a range of clinical competencies
- Knowledge of ANMC competencies and scope of practice of all members of the team
Desirable Criteria
- Experience as Ward Shift leader
- Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment
- Relevant post graduate qualifications
- Completion of a Preceptorship Program.
