About the Opportunity

The position of Client Support Officer will be responsible for all staff technology related issues across all Council locations. This is to include but is not exclusive to individual computer issues, new desktop configuration and distribution, telephony support (including mobile phones), computer network issues, support for fax, printer, software installations, remote access, and technical assistance with staff presentations. The position will also be required to assist in the rollout of new technologies across Council and participate in related projects.

Additionally the Client Support Officer will be responsible for development of training and support materials and support for Council’s fleet of mobility devices. Support and assistance also extends to Councillor support, assisting Council’s elective representatives with all their Council provided hardware (including mobile phones and printers), software, networking and remote access.

To be considered for this position you will have:

  • Qualification in Computer Science\Business Information Technology OR at least one years’ experience in and Information Technology support role ie. Helpdesk or Desktop support.
  • Experience in Information Technology helpdesk support to end users in an office environment.
  • Experience with a wide range of windows applications including but not exclusive to the Microsoft Office suite, Office 365, Skype for Business.
  • Experience with Active Directory.
  • Experience with a wide range of operating systems including Windows, Macintosh, Linux.
  • Experience with one on one staff training in a computer environment.
  • Previous experience with development of training and support material.
  • Class ‘C’ Drivers Licence.

Salary: Employment is under the Local Government (State) Award. This position is placed in Grade 12 of Cumberland / Holroyd salary structure with a salary range of $1,273.43 to $1,464.48 per week plus superannuation. Commencement salary will depend upon qualifications, experience and competencies.

Conditions of Employment: Permanent full time position. This position will be initially located at Auburn, however there is the possibility that you may be working across Merrylands and/or Auburn worksites.
