One of our Federal government client is seeking to engage a Policy officer at APS 6 level for a 6 months contract with possible extension.

About the Department

The taskforce is a relatively small team (8-10 people) working in a highly collaborative and integrated way on this high profile, national project.

The project work is conducted through extensive consultation and policy analysis, primarily through a jurisdictional working group.

The Taskforce also engages across the Department, with other Commonwealth agencies and is establishing small groups of experts from industry, academia and all tiers and government to help with aspects of the Strategy’s development. Industry focus groups will also be utilised to test the draft Strategy. Consultation commenced in late June 2018 and will continue through to February 2019.

The Position:

As a member of the Taskforce, the successful candidate will assist with:

• Policy analysis to support the development of the Strategy, including compiling the results of consultations, and document quality and version control.

• Project communication support for the various working groups, including website and document sharing platforms.

• Knowledge of contract and financial management and Govdex or SharePoint would be beneficial but not essential.

• Ability to gain a working understanding of freight-related policy matters and stakeholders would be regarded favourably.
