Our local council client based on the upper north shore of sydney is looking to engage an experienced Bushland Plant Operator to join their Bushland Operations team on an ongoing basis.
Your duties will include but not limited to:
- Operatng various plant machinery and providing assistance to complete works associated with the conservation and maintenance of the councils bushland
- Reshaping of soil surfaces
- Cosnstruction of sediment basin and drainage line works
- Operating power tools and maintenance tools - chain saw, pole saw, hedger, rake hoe, brush hooks
- Operating plant equipment - excavator
- Clearance of vegetation
- Tree removal
Ideally you will have:
- Appropriate qualifications relevant to conservation and land management or bushfire management or demonstrated field experience
- Current MR license
- It would be an asset if you possess a Chem Cert (AQF3)
- Tickets to operate plant equipment and machinery - excavator ticker, chainsaw certificate, white card etc.
- Ability to work within a team to meet deadlines
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Most importantly - a great attitude, good work ethic and passion to work with and conserve the environment
