About the role:
This diverse role will require an experienced driven and motivated professional with the resilience to operate in a highly sensitive political environment. This role has the responsibility for the effective overall management of the Executive Office including the external and internal communication and internal marketing function, high level support to the Mayor in dealing with community representations and the management and organisation of civic events.
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to conduct high level research to provide evidence based solutions on local and state issues to assist the Mayor to inform the Council and the community of Councils position on politically sensitive matters.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
- Professional tertiary qualifications and/or extensive job related experience
- Demonstrated experience in dealing with complex and politically sensitive issues
- Experience in media relations, communications and marketing
- Experience in project management to prepare clear project proposals with definition of scope and goals in measurable terms.
