An exciting opportunity is available for a Business Suport Officer to provide high quality business and project/administrative support to the Executive Manager, Strategy and Urban Analytics and the team more broadly. Our team is responsible for research, analysis, policy and strategy development to support the City's work in the implementation of Sustainable Sydney 2030.

This role, based in Town Hall House in the Sydney CBD, is responsible for the delivery of high quality, accurate, timely and professional assistance to ensure effective communication, administration and coordination with the City Executive, Unit Managers and staff in the various divisions, and with external stakeholders.

This role will include but not limited to:

  • diary management, minuting meetings, coordination of correspondence, records management and system administrator for the Council Report System
  • preparation of PowerPoint presentations
  • drafting basic correspondence, memos and reports and sourcing information
  • management of the unit budget, financial processes and liaison with the finance team
  • administration associated with arranging travel, small business meetings and workshops and office supplies
  • ensuring information provided is accurate and in accordance with legislation and Council’s policies, and remains confidential when required
  • demonstration of effective interpersonal skills by maintaining good working relationships within the organisation and with external stakeholders.

The successful candidate must have experience in a similar role, possess superior written and verbal communication skills, have fundamental financial skills and an ability to work effectively and to deadlines in a highly professional environment. We are looking for a pro-active team player who takes initiative and delivers excellent customer service, both within and outside of the unit.
