Ashdown People are currently searching for experienced Records Officer to work for one of our State Government Clients based in Silverwater. This position is a contract with an immediate start and valid till the end of the year. This position is paying between $27-$37 per hour plus superannuation.The main purpose of the role is the maintenance of records, scanning and uploading documents, sentencing and assisting in archiving. The Successful person will be required to assist with the transition of 3 government agencies into one corporate Records department where are staff are trained in the workings of the 3 former agencies and are able to fulfill all business as usual and project work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attending to the opening, scanning and registration of incoming correspondence including mail, emails and faxes, indexing in accordance to business rules and the State Records Act 1998
- Ensuring integrity, consistency and security of all Records.
- File management including the creation and tracking of files.
- Responding to staff queries, ensuring information provided is accurate and delivered in a timely manner.
- Assisting in the provision of file management services for files held at the off-site storage facility as requested.
- Communicating openly and effectively with other Records Management staff to ensure that records management functions are delivered in a prompt and uniformed manner..
- You must have previous experience and sound knowledge of working in a records management environment.
- Previous Records Management Experience Using Objective and / or HP RM8 TRIM
- Ability to undertake manual handling including retrieving files from shelving, boxing and the lifting of these boxes.
- Strong and effective communication skills and ability to build effective interpersonal relationships.
- Ability to plan and prioritise work, to be flexible with an innovative approach to work.
- Great attention to detail
