Project Coordinator - Capital Works

This is a full time, fixed term position of three years.

MOA Level 8 ($112,715 - $120,448 + super)

We currently have a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Coordinator to join our team. Reporting to the Director of City Assets, the role of Project Coordinator - Capital Works will lead across a variety of areas, providing an excellent opportunity to use your leadership experience and knowledge in a role that has professional challenges and satisfaction.


The successful applicant will have a strong attention to detail, a positive attitude and ability to work in a strong dedicated team environment. 


Your Key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivery of the Annual Capital Works program ($64 million for 2018/19)
  • Development and scheduling of the future year/years capital program including the scheduling and resourcing of the design, estimation and consultation phases.
  • Drive the delivery of the capital works program ensuring projects are prioritised and strategically planned to address the objectives and budget constraints of each project.
  • Develop, implement and maintain an organisational project management framework.
  • Provide expert advice on project management.
  • Establish and monitor an overarching capital works programme reporting mechanism suitable for Elected Members and Executive Leadership Team, internal stakeholders and the public.

The successful applicant will possess the following:

  • A background in project management or coordination in a similar size, or larger, complex and diverse organisation (in excess of $49 million annual spend across 200 plus projects).
  • Prior experience in influencing outcomes from people who do not directly report to you.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing process improvements in project management and procurement practices.
  • Involvement in project and financial reporting with a detailed understanding of the various elements of an overall project cost.
  • A working knowledge of contemporary project management techniques.
  • Awareness of tendering practices for large civil, building and open space projects.

This is a Level 8 position which has a current salary range of $112,715 to $120,438 (plus Super).
