$66k - $83k + 9.5% Super – dependent on relevant experience, skills and knowledge
We are a key driver of economic development, a role which we lead from the front in by supporting positive development outcomes. The Planning Team assesses 4,000 development applications annually dealing with a wide range of planning assessments from coastal to primary production, residential, residential infill, industrial, commercial and shops.
The Development Officer (Planning) is responsible for the implementation of the Development Plan and the provision of professional town planning advice to Council and customers relating to the planning, development assessment and compliance responsibilities of Council.
The position requires strong working relationships with the Development Services team as well as various internal and external consultants and stakeholders.
The successful candidate will possess:
- A demonstrated knowledge of the development assessment process.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports and handle customer enquiries in a clear and concise manner.
- The demonstrated ability to work within and manage competing demands and timelines.
- The ability to interpret complex information, drawings, maps, statistics and legal opinions.
- A flexible lateral approach to problem solving.
- A demonstrated ability to work in, and contribute towards, a positive and effective team environment.
