About the Content Creator and Editor Position

This part-time position sits within the Library Administration team supporting the developing and delivery of library programs and specifically building community awareness of customer programs through the administration of our web pages, social media presence, media and online bookings systems. While ability to write appropriate content and accuracy are critical to this role we are also looking for an energetic ideas person with personal initiative who can support the delivery of team outcomes and someone adept at building positive relationships with key stakeholders. Experience working in a public library would be an advantage.

As part of the Lifestyle and Community directorate, City Libraries partner with other council directorates and external organisations to ambitiously meet the ever changing community demand for strengthening economic and social capital through programs, services and collections that support reading and literacy, skill development and learning, social inclusion, health and wellness.

Our services are delivered through a diverse and wide spread network of 12 branch libraries and 6 unique offerings – our Mobile Library, Local Studies Library, Special Needs Library, Corporate Library, Ormeau Book Box and our pop-up library which can be found in unexpected places across the Gold Coast. All of our services offer unique and personable experiences to our community and visitors alike.

Key Deliverables of the position:

  • Review and maintain library webpages in consultation with Council web services team
  • Implement a new online booking system
  • Develop a schedule for the promotion of library programs
  • Maintain social media presence
