ABOUT THE ROLE
The primary purpose of this position is to effectively manage the Apprenticeship and Traineeship Field Services Program to ensure that service objectives are met. The program provides risk assessment and investigation services to detect and report non-compliance, to increase regulatory awareness and presence amongst employers, apprentices and trainees.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Manage and co-ordinate program activities and program related budgets to ensure service objectives are achieved
- Lead the VAFS team (10 staff) to ensure service objectives and KPI’s are achieved
- Conduct more complicated or sensitive investigations
- Devise strategies to facilitate continual improvement to enhance program efficiency and effectiveness.
- Attend high level meetings with VRQA representatives in relation to program objectives, KPIs and issues resolution.
- Implement BUSY At Work human resource management strategies and processes
- Demonstrated effectiveness in providing operational leadership
- High level investigation, problem solving and or mediation skills and experience highly desirable
- Strong achievement focus
- Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise and objective reports and the ability to coach others to do so
- Extensively developed interpersonal and communication skills including competence in coaching, mentoring , training and counselling staff as well as effective client relationship management skills
- Good knowledge of the Apprenticeship regulatory environment in Victoria would be a significant advantage.
- There are no mandatory qualifications for this position, however a Diploma in Government Investigations or equivalent experience would be highly regarded. Unit/s of Competency, Certificates, and Degrees in business and or management would also be an advantage. Experience in an Apprenticeships regulatory environment or Government Contracted Services environment preferred.
