An exciting opportunity exists for a Subdivision Landscape Surveillance Officer, in the Landscape Planning Team, with operational use of vehicle. Be part of a supportive and integrated team delivering high quality open space and landscape assets for the future communities of Hume City Council.
The role is required to audit landscape construction against approved plans, to ensure works comply and are built to Council standards. Also in this position you will be responsible for pre-commencement meetings, through construction, establishment and monitoring of the 2 year maintenance periods, and ensure new Council assets are handed over to Council in good condition.
You will be required to have experience in landscaping and working with contractors in a landscape setting. A knowledge of, and skills associated with of a variety of landscaping projects such as street tree planting, park and playground construction, raingardens/wetlands and creek reserves is a necessity.
Key Skills:
- Knowledge and experience of Landscape construction projects and practices
- Ability to liaise and negotiate with a range of people, including contractors, landscape architects, developers, engineers and landscape officers
- The ability to read landscape plans, and audit with an eye for detail
- The ability to observe, document and notify external and internal customers of anomalies and defects
- A range of computer and administrative skills necessary to carry out the above
