Our Federal Government Client is seeking additional resources to fulfill the needs of their Surge Debt Recovery team, specifically APS 4 Finance Officers.

About the role:
The position will undertake routine operational aspects of the team for the day-to-day operations of the initiative. As a Surge Debt Recovery Officer, you will undertake the routine operations, which will facilitate and coordinate all functions necessary to manage the Surge debt recovery targets. This includes:

• Data migration and data entry functions including: continually update, revise and maintain various registers; analyse and manipulate data sets to meet reporting requirements; cross reference data between registers (some registers on a SharePoint environment)
• Capable of producing unique correspondence and possess the ability to draft quick responses to written requests
• Escalate Surge related cases that require recovery action (understanding the next step in the process)
• Provide support to the Phoenix project and look at internal capability (in other teams) to assist with objectives - e.g. working closely with stakeholders
• Initiate and document a process map for the 'debt recovery' function (complex task because of large stakeholder group), working closely with a project lead
• Provide support for workshops designed to understand processes and interdependencies of stakeholders - e.g. attempt removing old debts off the numerous registers.
• Administrative functions: inbox management, risk management, in-coming calls from debtors... etc.

About you:
The successful candidate will have all or most of the following:

• Understanding of debt collection or financial accounting best practice is a requirement
• Data manipulation capability and a strong understanding of Excel
• Attention to detail and high standard of written and oral communication skills
• Willingness to test new approaches and remain flexible in a dynamic environment
• Proven ability to provide a high level of responsiveness to a variety of tasks.
• SharePoint experience would be high on the skill set sought
• Formula and unique coding skills would be highly regarded
