The position is a  temporary full time appointment within a dynamic and exciting team at Royal North Shore Hospital, in the Older Person's Mental Health Service.

What you'll be doing

The team leader provides specialist clinical leadership to the Older Person's Mental Health Service at Royal North Shore Hospital   The team provides services to  consumers with complex care needs living in the community. The position is responsible for planning & implementation of appropriate intervention to community consumers -  with a focus on recovery.
 
The Older Persons Mental Health Service  is committed to providing appropriate assessment and interventions, assisting the service to provide a timely access to services. The acuity and complexity in community care provides a challenging and exciting workload.

Employees must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct. Criminal record checks will be undertaken on successful applicants and applicants for positions designated as Category A will be required to obtain required vaccinations prior to commencing employment.


Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:          

  • Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  • Recognised qualifications in health related discipline ie Social Work, Registered Nurse List A, Psychologist, Occupational Therapy with eligibility for registration/ association with appropriate professional boards/ bodies and a relevant post graduate qualification.
  • Extensive experience working a community mental health team and/ or aged care service.
  • Demonstrated timely high level of written and verbal communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills to work corroboratively and autonomously to foster and enhance positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated successful management of financial and organisational resources with good computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Proven organisational skills and ability to manage change in a positive manner, with excellent negotiation skills and the ability to deal with conflict situations.
  • Experience in clinical practice improvement, safety improvement programs and risk management strategies.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence
