• Previous experience in Cluster or Regional roles within leading hotel chains is a pre-requisite

Our client manages a well-known hotel company in Papua New Guinea with clear emphasis on sophistication and style within each of properties. We are now searching for an experienced Group Chief Engineer/Project Manager (Follow-up and Planning) to direct, lead and plan the overall operations of the maintenance and engineering department on a group-wide perspective. The candidate will have to ensure that all existing properties and upcoming projects are serviced to the highest of the standards.

Professional Profile:

• Minimum 15 years experiences in engineering and 5 years of recent experience as Cluster or Regional Chief Engineer coming from 5 star hotels/resorts ONLY
• Candidate MUST be an MEP Specialist (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) 
• Excellent experience in managing supply logistics in remote areas
• Must have prior experiences within international hotel companies having at least 200 rooms
• Have managed projects worth over US$ 2 million 
• Qualified with a degree in Engineering
• Fully familiar with refrigeration, electrical applications, air-conditioning, energy consumption, power generation & distribution, water desalination plants, etc.
• Technically proficient and implementing preventive maintenance programs
• Organise and set-up preventive maintenance programmes for all electrical and mechanical equipment including general building works
• Advise individual hotel General Managers and the Group General Manager of any potential problems and/or shortcomings at property level
• Supervise maintenance employees, source and contract employees who are carrying out minor building work, electrical and mechanical installations
• Supervise and liaise with all contractors, write specifications for all electrical, mechanical and associated building works complying with the local government regulations and inspect and sign for contractor works upon satisfactory completion
• Oversee the general maintenance of all life safety systems throughout the hotel and report any major defects 
• Ensure that all administration files are kept up to date including drawing prints, specifications and equipment, technical maintenance manuals, etc.
• Recommend and evaluate energy conservation programmes and ensure they are carried out as well as investigate the wastage
• Manage a team of Construction Managers
• Proactively remain involved with labour issues and solve them with creative ideas to arrive at a win-win situation
• Handling all safety procedures and facility support services
• Superb organizational and leadership skills
