Do you have a passion for both technical design and delivering projects? Are you looking for a role where no two days are the same? Our power generation team is expanding and we are looking for an experienced, heavy industrial Project Engineer to join our group on a 12 month contract with a view to permanency.
About the role
Reporting to the Power Generation Engineering Manager, this will see you based in our busy Perth branch as a part of our National Power Generation team with frequent travel to our project site in regional WA, increasing as the project progresses. Working with a dedicated team of Cummins engineers and project personal, you will be responsible for bringing together engineers, systems, designs and solutions to ensure a world class, completed engineering design for our power station project.
Responsibilities:
- Managing and guiding internal design engineers through the design phases of the various aspects of the overall power station project
- Work with the design team and any external suppliers on design reviews, ensuring compliance and synchronicity across all engineering work packages
- Ensure designs move correctly through the gate approvals process in accordance with the project plan
- Build a project commissioning team including internal technical resources, service techs, suppliers and customer representatives,
- Ensure engineering designs go out for fabrication or compilation with our equipment suppliers in a timely manner ensuring accurate end products
- Ensure all required equipment is designed, built and delivered to site to meet project milestones
- Hold overall responsibility for all aspects of the engineering design successfully coming together and functioning an entirety
About you
- Relevant engineering qualification (Bachelor of Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering)
- Previous experience delivering complex power generation projects
- A strong focus on process to deliver a strong technical outcome
- Strong communication and stakeholder relationship management skills
- The drive and tenacity to bring together design packages successfully into a single solution
- The ability to utilise the skills and experience of a highly knowledgeable team
- Previous experience managing engineering commissioning
- Be available for frequent travel to our project site
