We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Team Manager to help lead and grow our established NSW Water team based in Sydney. We’re seeking a leader who will harness their strong people skills, technical credentials and client relationships to guide and deliver projects within the Water sector.
Reporting to the Section Executive, Water, NSW, the primary responsibilities and accountabilities of the Team Manager include:
- Lead our ‘zero harm’ safety culture and comply with role specific SHEQ obligations
- Responsible for the commercial and financial performance of the Water team based in our World Square office
- Drive performance in accordance with strategic goals
- Maintain staff well-being and lead the professional development of direct reports
- Build trust within the business and empower your team to foster a high performance and entrepreneurial culture
- Responsible for the commercial and financial performance of the World Square team
- Interpret strategic plans into action plans, implement and achieve actions
- Manage the delivery of projects to our internal and external clients on-time, within budget and to a high technical standard
- Manage and contribute to projects (as appropriate), including providing technical review and sign off, risk management, commercial and project management
- Ensure consistency of standards and procedures, systems and approach
- Plan the team’s short-term and long-term resourcing to maximise efficiency and profit
Key Skills and qualifications:
- Typically, 10+ years’ experience in the Water sector
- Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering, Science, Env) or Equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a consultancy environment
- Business Development and/or client relationship experience
- Previous team management or project management experience
- Well-connected within the Sydney/NSW Water market
- Experience working for or with Sydney Water is highly regarded
- Proven ability to successfully interpret strategic plan into action plans and achieve the action plans
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Developed internal networks with key colleagues
- Track record of winning work within water sectors
- Experience in managing a team budget and implementing a budget process
- Experience in dealing with and solving client issues and concerns relating to projects and project teams
