A recent newly created role within the Northern Region Metro Concrete Operations team, Hanson is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual that will champion an Operational Excellence strategy across Metro Concrete Operations. 
 
You will essentially have a blank canvas to create and mould the overall strategy across the Concrete supply chain via a focused analytical approach - identifying broad Continuous Improvement opportunities related to plant capacity/constraints, process sequencing and cycle times, identification & elimination of waste, and application of change control through contemporary change management methodology.
  
Key Responsibilities will include:

• Defining, designing and implementing an Operational Excellence program across Metro Concrete Operations
• Establishing and maintaining performance metrics to measure program success
• Routinely seeking Continuous Improvement opportunities throughout the concrete supply chain process based on key metrics and targets - enabling Metro Concrete Operations to achieve its growth & profitability objectives
• Installing process excellence support for program governance, initiative reviews, communications, training and certifications
• Acting as the interface between the regional & national functional teams for Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence synergies and implementation, whilst ensuring integration and alignment vertically and horizontally across Metro Concrete Operations
• Provision of expert coaching and mentoring in Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques
• Actively contributing to the reduction of operational and organizational risk in regards to safety, environment and the community in which we operate

 
Experience and Qualifications required for the role:

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant Engineering discipline
• 5 -10 years’ experience gained in a multi-site competitive manufacturing/supply chain environment
• Demonstrated practical experience in the successful development and application of Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement programs within a manufacturing/supply chain environment
• Sound knowledge of lean and/or six sigma principals and processes, accompanied with the appropriate level of certification
• Demonstrated change management capability
• Sound written, verbal communication and presentation skills, including report writing and the ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organization (executive to shop floor)
