My client is a global engineering firm who design, build, finance and operate infrastructure assets for governments, businesses and organisations in more than 150 countries. Combining knowledge, experience and a network of global experts to solve the worlds most complex and demanding challenges.
Due to an increased portfolio of infrastructure projects in North QLD we are looking to appoint an Environmental Planner in the Rockhampton, Townsville or Cairns office.
As a key member of the environmental team you will liaise with internal and external stakeholders, contribute to project management, business development and technical delivery on a variety of transport infrastructure and defence projects.
Some day to day responsibilities will include:
- Manage projects, including preparation and supervision of deliverables and resources, to meet contract requirements in line with a project plan
- Actively manage and schedule project resources to ensure on time and on budget delivery of work
- Undertake sections of multi-faceted projects in collaboration with other staff or sub-consultants
- Provide technical expertise to resolve client or project requirements and ensure maintenance of high technical standards
- Prepare reports, proposals, tender documents and correspondence
- Undertake project invoicing and budgeting
- Undertake ad-hoc project related tasks as required which may include studies and assessments, data analysis, technical writing, presentations, and legislative research
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients to enhance client retention and growth
- Effectively communicate in a professional manner with other project staff including subcontractors, suppliers, clients and the community to enhance working relationships and outcomes
- Receive general instruction on project tasks and undertake internal and external training as required
- Interpret and apply Commonwealth and Queensland planning and environment legislation to a wide range of projects and activities
- Develop and implement approvals strategies, including obtaining approvals
- Utilise critical analysis and problems solving to find appropriate solutions to development, legislative and planning issues
A suitable candidate will possess:
- Relevant tertiary qualification (Urban Planning, Regional and Town Planning, Environmental Management etc.)
- 3-8 years relevant experience
- Knowledge of the relevant market for consulting services
- Australian Citizenship required
