Contract Length: 4-6 months

Our client, a large technology, engineering, and manufacturing organisation with global operations, is currently engaged in a large Sydney based project and now requires an electrical systems engineer to support this project.
 
Main tasks will include:

• Surveys and investigates the requirements on the technical system, made from various aspects (customer, law, standards, technical analysis, etc.).
• Processes the requirements: analysis, structuring and documentation in transparent form, incl. corresponding sources and stakeholders.
• Manages the requirements and maintains the documentation (requirements management).
• May check the requirements under formal aspects regarding completeness and unambiguousness.
• May check the content of requirements regarding comprehensibility, consistency, cross references, dependencies and later checkability (acceptance criteria).
• May evaluate the requirements based on broad experience regarding their feasibility or contained technical risks.
• May support the verification of the requirement fulfillment in the execution phase in cooperation with quality management.

Skills and experience required: 

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering
• Performing and co-ordinating project design and systems integration
• Project engineering and commissioning
• Ability to prioritise work taking into account a complex matrix of inputs
• Knowledge of relevant Australian and International Design and Electrical standards 
• Understanding of Primary and Secondary Electrical networks with particular focus on substation and switchroom electrical systems
• Primary domain knowledge & proven experience - LV busway, MV switchgear (GIS and AIS), CT & VT sizing, protection control measurement & instrumentation sizing, and LV switchgear.  
• Knowledge and understanding of Switchgear, Protection and Control Systems, UPS, DC battery systems, SCADA and communications
