Reporting to the Environmental Manager, the Environmental Specialist will assist with the implementation of environmental strategies, polices, and systems and reporting on emissions and waste, ensuring there are no adverse effects on the workers, community and the environment.
 
About the Role
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Identify, plan and implement business strategies to quantify and report on factors affecting the environment
• Management of external and internal reporting requirements
• Manage the compliance of trade waste and solid waste agreements and service contracts
• Develop and implement site Environment Resource Efficiency Plan (EREP)
• Maintain and improve Environment Management Systems and integrate environmental practices into standard operating procedures and staff training
• Prepare and deliver governmental reports and presentations

About You
You will win this role with your:

• Relevant (ideally Chemical Engineering) tertiary qualification and post graduate studies
• Ability to be action oriented and proactive
• Exposure to high risk sites
• Strong communication, influencing and relationship building skills
• The ability to lead change
