About the Company
BMD Urban services national and locally based clients engaged in residential, industrial and commercial land development and a wide range of infrastructure projects. Our diverse portfolio of civil construction capabilities include earthworks, roadworks construction and maintenance, water and waste water infrastructure, bikeways, sporting facilities and airport infrastructure.
Due to current and future work requirements, we are looking for an experienced Project Engineer within the ACT business unit.
About the Role
We have multiple opportunities within our ACT division including projects in Canberra.
We are looking for candidates experienced in urban and land development. Ideally you will have experience on projects valued $1m - $20m.
Our Urban business has an ongoing pipeline of work in Canberra and can offer the right candidate a genuine opportunity to grow their skills and progress their career within a growing family owned business.
As an Engineer you will have extensive knowledge of the day to day issues that affect the urban and land development industry sites in order to make decisions to maximise the project's success in terms of profitability, efficiency, contract period and human relations.
Duties
- Mentor more junior staff
- Ensure HSEQ awareness is maintained at all times
- Prepare plans, budgets, forecasts and required reports for the project
- Monitor construction programs
- Identify and complete contract variations
- Contract negotiations
- Cost / Tender analysis
- Establish cost and budget awareness with site foreman
- Client / consultant liaison
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering is desirable.
- Prior relevant project management experience within the urban and land development industry.
- Strong commercial and financial capabilities
- Well-developed communication skills (oral, written and interpersonal)
- Ability to solve multiple complex matters simultaneously.
