A huge flow of exciting projects at this leading Sydney based University has generated a new opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join their large in house team.
Supporting the Building Services Engineers within the Planning and Design Team you will, under direction, be responsible for implementing engineering services and infrastructure initiatives, delivering energy efficiency projects and providing professional advice to the Projects and Facilities Management team. You will also perform services inspections on new and existing buildings, monitor asset performance and operational efficiency, and liaise with external authorities and consultants concerning University engineering services matters. You will play a significant role in championing the delivery of high quality engineering services and infrastructure, energy efficiency and life-cycle asset performance across the University.
Your duties will include:
- Ensure implementation of Design Standards on projects and in facility management operations
- Perform building services inspections on projects and raise defects and ensure they are closed out
- Implement and manage campus engineering and energy efficiency improvements and up-grades
- Monitor compliance and effective operation of engineering services plant, equipment and infrastructure
- Undertake procurement and financial management activities for engineering and sustainability initiatives including assisting in business case preparation
- Provide technical and sustainability input and advice to Projects and their design and construction contractors
- Work with project teams to ensure all new buildings and building alterations and refurbishments take full advantage of energy reduction technologies
You will have:
- Knowledge and experience in HVAC and lighting systems and controls, hydraulic services, fire services and vertical transport systems
- Understanding and experience of Building Management Control Systems and environmentally sustainable design of building services plant and equipment
- Competencies for developing, implementing and monitoring sustainable energy reduction management programmes
- Skills in using BMS to monitor Mechanical or Electrical assets and energy efficiency improvements.
- Exposure to compiling, analysing, interrogating and management of multiple data and information sources to enable problem solving and resolution
- Skills, competence and experience in aspects of Building Services engineering, planning, design, construction, commissioning and operation and maintenance
You will have relevant tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Engineering, or related fields and at least 1 to 2 years professional experience.
