About the Role

The Utility and Compliance Director will be a part of the organisation’s executive management team and is responsible for the efficient and effective management of the department.  You will play a key role in the strategic planning and operations of the organisation across areas including waste management, development and land use, environmental health and health and safety.

Duties

• Provide effective and innovative leadership to staff and develop a culture of innovation and open communication within the department. This will include the development and appraisals of your team;
• Comply and understand the relevant statutory regulations that apply to the operations of your department and the position;
• Develop and foster an environmentally responsible approach to activities undertaken by the department;
• Contribute to strategic planning and operations of the organisation through membership of the senior executive team, including the CEO and other directors;
• Exercise a consistent judgement of financial management to your relevant department, and review and align department spending with allocated budget and the organisation financial framework;
• Promote and implement effective systems to create a systematic and effective approach to customer engagement both internal and external to the department.

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or equivalent qualifications;
• Previous and demonstrated experience in project management;
• Experience in strategic management of complex organisational change;
• Proven effective leadership skills, with the ability to manage a large, diverse workforce;
• High-level interpersonal skills and the ability to implement and foster a motivational and effective working environment;
• Demonstrated experience in management and accountability of significant corporate budgets.
