Aerospace Engineer – Capability Development

These capabilities encompass all levels of platform sustainment and stewardship including engineering, maintenance, modification, repair, in-service monitoring, reliability, training, planning, purchasing and supply.

Northrop Grumman Australia Technology Services KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport Program is seeking a highly motivated and professional, tertiary qualified Aerospace Engineer to join the Capability Development Team based at RAAF Base Amberley.

 

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Development of engineering instruments to facilitate project success
  • Ensure engineering outputs are compliant with relevant airworthiness regulations and requirements
  • Ensure that engineering outputs will deliver operational results that meet the corporate and customer requirements, and adhere at all times with the policy, procedures and processes as endorsed by the business and customer
  • Engage greater KC-30A Engineering Community to ensure delivery of planned outcomes
  • Review project related technical information
  • Review and approve engineering instruments in accordance with level of authority granted
  • Monitor and accurately update the engineering tasking database
  • Maintain oversight of and manage the configuration of the KC-30A platform as impacted by any given project’s engineering outputs
  • Investigate and resolve system level technical issues cooperatively with the greater KC-30A Engineering Community as required
  • Support project management activities through provision of timely information regarding current activities and risks

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Relevant Aerospace engineering degree(s) (Mechanical, Structures, Avionics, Electrical, Software, Systems accepted)
  • Minimum three  years' experience as a Professional Engineer in the aviation industry (essential)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Proven analytical and reporting skills
  • Strong team player, with ability to work as part of a larger group or independently
  • Exceptionally robust oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance

 

Desired Requirements

  • Engineers Australia membership (or equivalent body) with ability to progress towards CPEng
  • Experience as a Professional Engineer in Defence Aviation
  • Experience in Project Engineering
  • Present or past Design Approval Authorisation holder or CVE in either a military or civil airworthiness regulatory framework
  • Understanding of Configuration Management concepts utilised by the ADF and/or Civil Operators.
  • Experience in delivering new aircraft capabilities within the Defence Capability Development framework
  • Experience with Enovia (eMatrix) or similar Engineering Management Systems.
