An opportunity exists to join our busy and successful Sustainment business as a Technical Claims Officer at our Cairns Service Centre on a full time, permanent basis.

The Technical Claims Officer supports the development of accurate work packages in line with the timeframes established for Cape Class Service Visits and work failure rectification, and ensures the effective service delivery to allocated Cape Class Vessels.

Key duties include: 

  • Maintain the Maintenance Period Main Work Lists for assigned maintenance periods
  • Development of accurate and timely maintenance work packages for assigned Cape Class maintenance periods
  • Identify material requirements for maintenance work packages and for work failure resolution
  • Development of accurate and timely work failure resolution work packages
  • Coordination of work failure responses to be completed for allocated vessels
  • Coordination of service visits to be completed for allocated vessels
  • Liaise with ABF Sustainment Managers and boat crews to ensure timely communications and feedback on allocated vessels

To be considered suitable for this role you must have a formal qualification in maintenance management, a trade, or in engineering.

Useful experience includes: 

  • Defence sector experience
  • Knowledge of maintenance management, planning and scheduling
  • Knowledge of asset management standards, systems and processes
  • Knowledge of configuration management systems and processes
  • Experience with CMMS systems
  • Competency in Microsoft Office and scheduling tools, preferably Primavera P6
