NQ Civil Engineering Contractors (NQCEC) is a remote area specialist in the delivery of road construction and maintenance, plant hire and other civil infrastructure projects for state road authorities, regional councils and Tier 1 mining companies.
Based in the fishing hot spot of Weipa in North Queensland, NQCEC continues to have a strong focus on completing infrastructure upgrade projects in remote indigenous communities whilst providing employment and training opportunities for both indigenous and non-indigenous workers.
About the role
Your new role as Workshop Manager is integral to the efficient functioning of the NQCEC workshop. You will be responsible for planning and managing the daily operations of the workshop. You will manage/supervise staff and ensure compliance across the workshop. You will be responsible for managing NQCEC fleet of vehicles, plants and equipment assets, Manage and control workshop stock, parts and materials. Document control and workshop purchasing.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate must have a mechanical background with experience in a similar managerial role, with a valid driver's licence. You must possess a range of experience in hands on maintenance within such a workshop, have the ability to supervise/manage and have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience working with SAGE or PRONTO along with strong computer skills would be a distinct advantage in this role, along with excellent organisation skills and the ability to prioritise work flow.
