In this challenging role at our Adelaide Manufacturing Cooking plant you will lead the Product Care Team within a well established R&D department to achieve targets on cost reduction, quality improvement and factory support.

The Electrolux Cooking Plant in Adelaide is a thriving example of modern traditional manufacturing in Australia with more than 400 people building 1400 ovens a day. In-house product design, access to global product and process knowledge and continued investment in plant and facilities make for an excellent workplace. You will find the work both challenging and satisfying.

Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following; 

• Lead the Product Care Team to achieve budgeted targets of Cost Reduction projects to reduce DM (Direct Material) and DL (Direct Labour) costs.
• Lead the Product Care Team in Quality Improvement projects to improve the quality of the manufactured products to reduce the warranty SCR (Service Call Rate).
• Lead the team in providing technical support to the factory to assist in the reduction of rework, to improve productivity, and to process requests for design changes from the ECR (Engineering Change Request) system.
• Manage team and individual performance against Electrolux principles and targets set in appraisals.

Project Management

• Investigate, prioritise and monitor multiple projects so that factory targets are met.
• Liaise with appropriate departments including Quality, Purchasing, Production, Logistics, Manufacturing Engineering and Tooling Engineering
• Coordinate and assist in the introduction of components and assemblies into production
• Participate in FMEA's (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)

Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience required

Knowledge

• Extensive knowledge of engineering concepts and materials (predominantly metals and plastics)
• Sound understanding of quality assurance principles
• Knowledge of a wide variety of production processes
• ISO 9001:2004 Quality Standards
• ISO14001:2008 Environmental Standards

Skills / Experience

• Project Management skills
• Knowledge of ECR (Engineering Change Request) and ECN (Engineering Change Notice) systems
• Ability to work with and build relationships with people at all levels within the organisation
• Ability to work in a cross-functional matrix organisation

Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
