Business Manager - Utilities & Power

Cardno is a professional infrastructure and environmental services company, with expertise in the development and improvement of physical and social infrastructure for communities around the world.
 
We are currently looking to recruit a Business Manager for our Utilities and Power team. With a wide range of electrical infrastructure projects in the pipeline you will manage a team of 15+ professionals to deliver accurate and efficient consulting and design services. This dynamic team, which is part of the 50+ staff Utilities, Power and Water Infrastructure Business Unit has a culture of collaboration and staff empowerment. We are looking for somebody who lives these values in the work environment, to help take drive the team forward through this major growth phase.
 
Specifically, your duties will include –

• To manage the overall performance of the Utilities and Power Business, including producing sustainable results, maintaining and developing client relationships, and maintaining the quality of work completed.
• To produce business performance outcomes that aligns with the company’s business plan.
• Manage key client relationships and foster a client focused business unit culture
• Develop new client relationships and maintain current relationships
• Managing a team to deliver economical and innovative design solutions
• Ensuring client expectations are met and exceeded

 
To be successful you will display –

• Minimum ten years demonstrated electrical design experience within a consulting environment
• Tertiary qualifications in electrical or controls engineering is essential
• Demonstrated experience in major electrical infrastructure (this role would not suit someone from Building Services)
• RPEQ electrical is essential for this role
• A project management qualification would be seen as an advantage
• Minimum four years demonstrated experience managing a team within a consulting environment
• Key business network in the Australian market
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with local authority and state government approval and regulatory requirements
• A commitment to self-improvement and continuing professional development
