An exciting opportunity exists for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer with 2-3 years site construction experience to form a key part of our estimating team based in Perth, Western Australia. This role suits a graduate engineer who has ambitions in Project Management and Project Engineering and is keen to gain an insight into the front end of the project cycle.  The selected applicant will be provided with training and support to enable you to prepare estimates from first principles.

ABOUT THE ROLE // 

You will work in the pre-contracts team preparing detailed, accurate, and timely estimates for projects with competitive pricing to best position Primero Group to secure future works. A component of the role will be supporting the Engineering and Study team in preparing CAPEX estimates.

You will develop estimates with a consultative approach by engaging with our internal engineering and construction experts.  You will work within the team to formulate estimates, develop construction programmes and work methodologies. You will identify and manage value engineering opportunities and participate and contribute in tender reviews and handovers; and where required perform site work evaluations.

ABOUT YOU // 

• A tertiary degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Field construction site experience in Australia preferred
• Estimating exposure is preferred but not essential  
• Advanced software skills in Excel, Office, Project and/or P6
• You are naturally team focused and can work autonomously
• You possess strong interpersonal skills and can communicate effectively with both the client and fellow colleagues
• Have a keen eye for detail and personally like structure and organisation
• You pride yourself by having highly developed interpersonal and communication skills along with up to date computer literacy
