The Company

Ensuring the safe sustainable constuction and operation of the transmission network

The Role

Undertake simulation and analysis of the power system to asses the connection of new large-scale (mainly renewable) generators to the grid
Interpret simulation data and provide robust technical recommendations on technical performance requirements
Manage multiple concurrent projects
Play an integral role as part of the senior internal stakeholder group to ensure holistic best outcomes for the network

Requirements

Experience of electrical power systems dynamics and stability concepts and assessment techniques
Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or other discipline related to power systems analytics
Understanding of control systems theory and practice for power system plant
Understanding of transmission, distribution and generation protection systems
Experience of power systems analysis simulation applications such as PSSE V32-V34, DIgSILENT, PowerFactory, Mudpack and PSCAD, as well as other analytical software such as Matlab
Proficiency in automation of processes and programs with an object- oriented programming language (Python, C++, Visual Basic etc.)
Understanding of the key commercial and legal issues on large infrastructure projects
