The CPB Samsung John Holland (CSJ) joint venture is currently delivering the $2.7bn WestConnex M4 East (WCXM4E) project. As part of a broader scheme to connect Sydney's west with the airport and Port Botany precincts, construction of the WCXM4E will join the M4 Widening at Homebush Bay Drive and provide a 5.5km tunnel from the M4 at North Strathfield to Parramatta Road and the City West Link.
The WCXM4E project scope includes:
- Twin tunnels with 3 lanes in each direction, spanning 5.5km in length
- On and off ramps at the M4 Motorway at Homebush, Concord Road at North Strathfield, Parramatta Road at Haberfield, and City West Link at Haberfield
- Surface road improvements including Patterson St, Concord, and Wattle St at Haberfield
- Future proofing with the provision for stage three (Haberfield to St Peters) ramps on Wattle Street
In line with the above scope and continuation of construction activities, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Area Manager to join the Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) tunnel fit out team. This team is responsible for the installation of the M&E packages. As an Electrical Area Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
- Manage the execution of design, procurement and engineering activities
- Assign resources to implement the electrical works within budget, time, quality and regulatory standards
- Demonstrate leadership in health, safety and risk management
- Leading and mentoring a team of electrical engineers
- Review progress against plans, contractual agreements and delivery milestones
- Ensure strong contract, commercial and financial risk management when tracking and forecasting costs
- Subcontractor management – foster strong working relationships between the project team and our construction partners.
To be considered, you will have 15+ years engineering experience and minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role in major infrastructure projects with a Tier 1 contractor. A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering is preferable.
