This Estimator opportunity is to join the successful division of Downer Roads specifically working with the Country NSW/VIC Asphalt business. In this role you will be responsible for initial and ongoing estimation functions for the team, developing internal and external relationships with contractors and subcontractors to benchmark performance, cost and quality as well as Downer’s success rate.

You will be hands on throughout the tendering process through to delivery including collection of actual costs rates to provide strategic advice to how the business approaches future bids, and the processes for handover of successful tenders.

You will have:

• Tertiary qualifications or equivalent in Civil Engineering or associated discipline
• Previous experience in an Estimating role with strong stakeholder engagement/management
• Strong costing and negotiating experience in a Civil/Roads based environment
• Proven track record of Cost/Contract/Vendor management, and commentary for project based civil works
• Technical minded with ability to understand and interpret complex information, for use in planning, process development, budgeting and programming.
