Mackay Regional Council has an opportunity for an experienced Leading Hand to join our Civil Operations team.

In this role, you will be responsible for the daily supervision of a small – medium work crew based out of the Paget Depot. You will be required to plan, organise and coordinate staff and will take a lead role in both health and safety and practical job training. You will provide a high standard of maintenance/construction expertise and you will present a positive image of Council’s workforce through positive client and community interactions.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Sound experience in construction and maintenance activities, particularly roads, drainage and concrete
• Certificate III in Civil Construction
• Experience in successfully leading, supervising and motivating teams
• Experience in Transport & Main Roads procedures & practices would be advantageous
• High level of client service paired with good oral and written communication skills
