About the business

Our client is a State government organisation who are currently seeking the services of a Safety Environment & Quality Coordinator.

About the role

The position advises and supports the local works managers for work health safety, environment and quality matters. Manage and implement regional asset maintenance quality systems, including documentation, system performance, monitoring and reporting on projects.

Skills and experience

  • Ensure the regional delivery asset maintenance requirements for quality systems (quality, environment and WHS) are met by effectively implementing and adhering to policies and directives.
  • Ensure requirements and client expectations in project delivery are met by managing the implementation, training and ongoing support for quality systems, by monitoring and reviewing project quality plans.
  • Ensure the quality system is up to date by managing the distribution, implementation and review of all relevant procedures and documents used in the quality system.
  • Ensure that quality management requirements are met and systems are effective by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with regional staff, WHS and environmental staff, the Regional Alliance Leadership Team (RALT) and Alliance Project Teams (APTs) by assisting with RALT quality verifications and ensuring the timely provision of systems information for quality, WHS and environmental including analysing and reporting on performance.
  • Manage systems audits, and participate in second and third party audits to ensure the companies and statutory requirements are met.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Demonstrated extensive experience in quality system internal auditing.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in the development, implementation and monitoring of quality management systems to relevant standards.
  • High level communication, negotiation and facilitation skills, and an ability to deal tactfully and effectively with people at all levels to enable the development of, training in, and going support of quality management systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of quality, WHS and environmental management systems for contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience in scheduling, conducting, reporting and monitoring quality systems audits.
  • Demonstrated experience in improving systems through audit, review and implementation of improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use standard computer packages to organise, present and analyse data and to produce clear reports.
