An exciting opportunity has opened up to come and work on this state of the art commercial development on the fringe of Melbourne’s CBD. Having recently secured this multi-million dollar site we are seeking an experienced Project Manager with development experience to head up this project.
Reporting to the Head of Development you will utilise your strong Commercial project management skills from project inception through to successful completion in this hands-on and broad role A key to being successful in this role will be your strong people skills and sound commercial construction or mixed used development project knowledge. The role will also call for well-developed verbal and written communication skills, good organisational skills, computer literacy, and natural leadership qualities.
As the successful candidate your key responsibilities will include:

  • Complete assigned projects according to budget, program and specific project objectives
  • Management, training and assessment of assigned staff
  • Site activities - Coordinates site activities in conjunction with the Site Foreman and client and prepare works program
  • Assist in the preparation, submission and negotiation of variations submissions
  • Maintain and report actual costs compared to tender of each job at completion
  • Prepare monthly report addressing the performance of the project, areas of concern and opportunities on each project assigned
  • Liaise with the Directors on status of variations and submissions (including tenders)
  • Supervise, coordinate and expedite issues relating to assigned site on daily basis
  • Supervise all subcontractors to ensure compliance with contract and specification
  • Arrange and hold project Kick-Off meeting and close out meeting
  • Hold weekly project meeting
  • Ensure all project Quality Assurance and OH&S requirements are documented and implemented
  • Maintain a strong team commitment within the project team and company generally
  • Ensure that best practice is used at all times
  • Comply and implement company procedures and directives of Senior Management
  • Industrial Relations disputes and matters relating to assigned projects in conjunction with Director - Operations
  • Contractual disputes (if they arise) with the client and subcontractors relating to assigned contracts


To be considered for this role you will be an experienced Project Manager from the construction industry and you will ideally have experience successfully managing and completing medium to large scale projects ($100-200 Million) on time and on budget. Engineering degree qualifications ideally sought. Salary is negotiable and will depend on what you have accomplished in the market to date but will be negotiable up to $200,000 Package.
