Kingston Building is a multi-award winning builder and a leader of the industry. Due to a influx of projects, a position has become available for an experienced site manager to take the lead in the onsite delivery of a construction project in Noosa for a multinational supplier to the building industry.
Preferred candidate is to have 5+ years' experience delivering a variety of projects ranging from fast paced fitouts through to new build developments.
The role is based on-site in Noosa Heads.
The key role requirements include:-Site
General:
- Have excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Take total ownership of site safety, time & quality outcomes of the project and team satisfaction in accordance with KPIs.
- Assist with the development of project management plans in accordance with Kingston Management System (e.g. Safety, Environmental, Quality, Industrial Relations and work Planning.
- Fully understand and take ownership of the site implementation of all project specific plans.
- Ensure work performed on site is carried out in accordance with Company standards, values and KPIs.
Safety & Environment:
- Commit to, and lead a safe work environment for the site which is free of incident or injury.
- Ensure all work is performed safely (including equipment and tools used) in compliance with company and legislative requirements.
- Deliver site inductions for all personnel on site
- Ensure that inspections/audits are undertaken, and corrective actions developed, agreed, implemented and signed off, in accordance with project plan and company standards.
- Ensure consultation processes are implemented, monitored and reviewed on site
Delivery:
- Must have high end pretigious residential or commercial experience.
- Control site expenditures and ensure that purchase orders are approved within Limits of Authority, completed correctly and forwarded to head office weekly.
- Perform daily inspections to ensure work is being performed in accordance with management system requirements, specification and meets industry standards.
- Ensure compliance with the Integrated Management System at all times.
- Each week, review the project programme for the following 3 weeks, identifying key elements of schedule and ensuring required services are programmed and coordinated.
- Provide & implement appropriate controls for material and physical security on site.
- Maintain appropriate on site documentation, in accordance with Integrated management systems and legislative requirements.
- Be clear with roles and responsibilities for all site team members.
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with sub contractors and all site personnel, client and/or client representatives.
- Ensure all correspondence is professional and courteous.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong work ethic and team player
- Have a minimum of 7+ years' experience working in a site manager role for a Head Contractor
- Have broad experience mainly in the delivery of refurbishment and fit-out projects, experience in new build developments would be highly desirable
- Have solid experience in the delivery of projects up to $5 million
- Have a trade background and/or have a tertiary qualification in Construction Management or a related field
The role will commence on a short term contract basis with the potential to extend pending the performance of the successful applicant. An attractive package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
