About the role
This is a strategic role with primary responsibility for developing and enhancing Mercer’s Pacific Market Information Technology and Cyber risk framework and approach. This role involves engaging and influencing key global and local stakeholders in the creation of policies and procedures for Mercer Pacific.

The role will support the Head of Enterprise Risk and Compliance to execute and enhance risk and compliance within the Information Technology, Data Management and Cyber environments.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop localised Information Technology, Data Management, Cyber Risk Management Framework / Methodology in co-operation with Mercer’s Global Technology Information (MGTI) and Mercer Pacific Markets IT team
  • Develop and integrate specific risk Information and Data Management frameworks, policies and guidelines documents as part of the existing Risk Management Framework
  • Develop appropriate risk reporting for Business leaders, Committees and Boards on the IT risk exposure and controls across Mercer Pacific
  • Lead a range of Technology risk engagements locally and globally
  • Review, manage and advise local Business Leaders on specific controls required to satisfy ongoing concerns across the IT risk environment aligned to IT expectations (Local and Global)
  • Provide and propose risk management support and solutions to Business Leaders in regard to identified issues and concerns
  • Review and provide guidance to Business Leaders and IT stakeholders (local and Global) on all regulatory standards, obligations and expectations that are relevant for Mercer Pacific such as Cyber risk and security, Fraud and Data Privacy
  • Provide advice and insights to key stakeholders into how to effectively manage risks across Mercer’s technology platforms

 Skills & experience

  • Experience in Information Security, Risk Management or Audit coupled with relevant formal education or certification or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years Financial Services or relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of IT risk assessment programs
  • Broad knowledge of Information Security principles and practices
  • Confidence in engaging with senior business stakeholders, including technology leaders to help them better manage their technology risk through pragmatic and fit for purpose solutions
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Personal drive to achieve required outcomes within specified timeframes
