About the role
In this position you will support the Head of Investments and Investment Manager in overseeing the investment program of our defined contribution assets (totalling $5.8 billion) across all asset classes while also monitoring VFMC in its capacity as investment manager for the defined benefit funds.

The Senior Analyst will provide quantitative support to the review of investment strategy, asset allocation and manager selection.  The Senior Analyst will develop an understanding of the total portfolio of fund managers and support the Investment Team in identifying the key risks and opportunities impacting the portfolio.  Providing support in the preparation of Board and related Committee papers will also be expected.

What we're looking for
We're looking for someone with a few years experience in financial markets, funds management, superannuation or asset consulting.  The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys working as part of a small team where collaboration and communication are an essential part of the role.  In addition, the following attributes are preferred:

• Highly evolved quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to interpret investment strategy issues;
• Strong writing skills with the ability to provide input into papers for ESSSuper's Board and related Committees;
• A general understanding of investment implementation and investment operational requirements.
• A general understanding of superannuation investment governance principles; and
• CFA or post graduate qualifications in a finance or economics related discipline will be highly regarded.
