We are looking to appoint an Accountant to support our Services Business line in Australia to achieve their sales volume and profitability targets, as well as to support better sales and management reporting, communication and information flow between Valmet units and departments. This role will be a visible role with interactions with our local and international offices and employees, and will be based in our Braybrook, Melbourne office.

The key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

- Preparation and posting of GL Entries
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date balance sheet reconciliations are produced and maintained
- Liaise with the business to understand and educate the team on any key commercial developments for relevant entity
- Liaise with related entities to proof and substantiate all inter-company bookings
- Prepare and review of BAS return prior to submission and assist Global tax with any queries where needed
- Assist Business controller in completing the HFM reporting incl. Schedules
- Effective management of year end statutory audit process
- Preparation of statutory accounts as required for relevant entities
- Preparation of FBT return (lead the function)
- Assist Global tax with annual company tax returns (local ownership is with this role)
- Preparation of annual budget and forecasting processes

The ideal candidate will possess at least 7-10 years’ experience as a Financial Accountant, or similar role and enjoy working as part of a team as well as independently, when needed. Along with being able to organize and manage conflicting tasks and deadlines, you will not be afraid to ask questions or help others wherever required.

They will also:
- Be a qualified member of accounting body or holder of an equivalent qualification. Bachelor (or higher degree) in accounting or business administration. CPA, CA, or equivalent
- Energetic, highly motivated, with an enquiring mind and passion for excellence and innovation in pursuit of business growth and success.
- Exceptional communication skills
- Strong IT skills, always being ahead of new technologies, including excel
- Self-starter hands on person with a desire to learn and influence change, particularly process improvement
- Experience of an accounting package (preferably Oracle Financial, Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and spreadsheet server incl Smartview)
- Experience of AR / AP processing
