The Role
As the National Retail Accountant, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate financial and management reporting (including preparation of budgets and forecasts) for the organisations retail operations. You will also be required to provide effective finance business partnering support to the Retail teams at a national and state level. Your duties will include but not be limited to the following tasks.

• Assist retail managers and finance business partner in preparing actuals, budgets and forecasts for Retail operations
• Provide commercial finance support and value-added advice to the retail teams
• Assist Finance Business Partner in preparation and reviewing month end reports and commentary
• Assist Retail Managers in answering any income or expense related enquiries
• Drive continuous development and improvement in financial processes, including:
• Perform ad hoc tasks to support Retail Managers and Finance teams.
• Ensure delivery of exceptional customer service by the Finance Team, both internally and externally
• Liaise with Melbourne Office Finance Business Partners team in relation to management reporting
• Liaise with Melbourne Office Financial Control team regarding finance processes and improvements
• Communicate with and support to non-financial staff to drive continuous improvements of processes
• Liaise with Retail and Financial Control team to streamline processes

The Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will be CA/CPA qualified (or currently completing) and have previous experience from a junior accounting or AP/AR role where you have been able to provide outstanding customer service to your internal stakeholder and build successful working relationships. It is also essential that you have developed verbal and written communication skills, good time management and organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
