Your new role
The Finance and Information Services division is responsible for providing operational support to Port of Newcastle in the areas of finance; information management; and risk management incorporating company insurance and audit reviews.
As a key member of the Finance and Information Services division this role acts as a support to all finance functions. You will work collaboratively with a range of staff across the organisation to deliver:
- Budgets and forecasts
- Monthly reporting
- General ledger maintenance
- Fixed asset register maintenance
- Month end reporting and reconciliations
- Accounts payable and receivable support
- Tax and BAS returns
What you’ll need to succeed
You will have recently completed your university degree or be close to completion and plan to commence your CA or CPA qualification. The successful candidate will also have:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and be intrinsically self-motivated
- Enjoy working as part of a team
- Strong business acumen
- A high degree of initiative and willingness
- A strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
