Purpose of the role
Reporting to the National Payroll Manager, the Payroll Officer is responsible for managing Australian Payroll Processes and ensuring all necessary payments and transaction are processed in line with agreed timelines and service level agreements.
Accountabilities
- Support the National Payroll Manager in delivering fully functional payroll functions
- Seek opportunities for different and innovative approaches to addressing problems and opportunities facilitating the implementation and acceptance of change with the workplace
- Develop an understanding of the internal Operational Structure of the business
- Manage all systems under your control to ensure compliance
- Identify new work practices to improve efficiency across the team.
- Understand payroll facilities and external systems to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of payroll processes
- Develop and maintain strong and positive relationships within CMG business units, including Operations & other departments within Shared Services
- Communicate with stakeholders within the business to find resolutions to quires
- Work with the business to educate them on best practice and system management

Skills Required
- Functional & Technical Competencies in payroll
- 3 years’ experience in a Payroll Officer role or similar in a large organisation
- Experience working with self-managed teams
- Working applied knowledge of payroll legislation
- Working and applied knowledge of superannuation legislation
- Knowledge of standard Microsoft Office products
