About the Opportunity

Newly created role where you will be responsible for leading a team to manage, clear and reconcile all of identified suspense and bank accounts across TAL.   You and your team will be driving process improvements by undertaking deep dive into root cause of breaks across various bank and general ledgers.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring day to day compliance requirements are met, as per TAL guidelines and regulatory obligations

  • Undertaking investigation and clearing of aged items

  • Participating in future state design for ongoing reports for reconciliations and redesign of BAU process

  • Completing root cause analysis of breaks across various reports and identify process improvement opportunities and identification of risk and compliance issues and assistance in remediation.

  • Working with the Technical training team to pinpoint and identify knowledge or process gaps and agree action plan.

  • Managing team to capture, report and clear reconciliation breaks

  • Preparing reconciliation of key bank reconciliations between bank account and system records

  • Investigating unprocessed/unmatched items and resolve outstanding items

  • Stakeholder engagement between other operation teams, finance teams and risk as required

  • Identifying trends and make recommendations around clearance of similar items

  • Making recommendations for reporting and process change

  • External stakeholder engagement might include APRA and External Auditors.

  • Managing stakeholder (internal and external) relationships. Relationships with stakeholders include: business partners, users, vendors, customers, project team members and management leaders

  • Proactively identifies customer issues and opportunities to resolve them

  • Giving frequent, positive and constructive feedback to team members. If a People Leader works with direct reports to ensure development plans are appropriate for individual and business needs

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Strong written, oral and public speaking capability across all levels of the organisation.

  • Ability to identify process improvement opportunities

  • Good attention to detail and a rigorous focus on delivering quality output

  • A minimum of 2+ years in leading a high performing team

  • Strong technical knowledge of Life Insurance and / or Superannuation business

  • Substantial experience and successful track record of delivering business change and improved business processes within a complex business transformation programme

  • Displays a strong customer service attitude in everyday responsibilities

  • Thinks innovatively and challenges the status quo
